![]() Active memory with my settings is 118K combining both processes, but does not rise like wizfile when **** happens The initial scan of my C disk takes 10-11 seconds of cpu time, much faster than the 17 of wizfile, realtime is about the same, maybe slightly faster (no I did not use a stopwatch) Saves a database, no need to scan on each startup, only for recent changes since the last open of the program Only asks for internet connection when clicking check for update When searching, memory jumps to over 100K, cpu time increases by a few seconds with each search (I imagine it depends on the search too of course, I do simple searches), I/O other also rises by about a 100-200 for my simple search Starting values for me: 17 seconds of cpu time, 1751 I/O read, 2 I/O write, ~850 I/O other, less than 10K active memory Scans entire disk at startup of program, does not store database of disks seemingly (can always use Process Monitor to check) However, as I'm doing stuff, for example launch WoW, active memory increased to 20K+ (not that it matters since u wont use it in the background, that's just dumb). With each search, cpu time increases by a few seconds or so, and the memory used jumps to over 100K while sitting on a search result, additionally with each search I/O other increases by around 100, I/O read and write never change. ![]() ![]() It starts with 1751 I/O read, 2 I/O write, and about 850 I/O other when started and finishes scanning, but I/O other passively increases while doing stuff, likely cuz of the monitor files and folders options. ![]() When started, wizfile takes 17 seconds of cpu time (about 3-4 seconds real time) to scan the entire C disk, once scanned, it uses very little memory while idling (less than 10K), and very little I/O activity. Ok so here are my tests, assuming of course you don't let the application run in the background and only start it when you need it (no indexing in the background **** that uses unnecessary resources) ![]()
